Liza
N. Burby is the author of How
to Publish Your Children’s Book (Square One Publishers),
38 nonfiction children’s books and a young adult novel.
She has also worked as a children’s book editor for publishers
like Barron’s Educational Series and Brown Books.
Liza is also an award-winning freelance journalist for more
than 50 publications, including Writer’s Digest, Newsday
and the New York Times, and managing editor of the top-rated
parenting magazine Newsday’s Parents & Children. She’s an
adjunct professor in the journalism program at Adelphi University
in Garden City, NY. And she frequently speaks at writer’s
conferences about children’s book publishing. Liza is a
member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators,
the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the
Society of Professional Journalists.
